Originally, actor Tom Hiddleston auditioned to play the role of the Norse god Thor. The video of his audition was added to the bonus tracks of the Blu-ray DVD of Thor: The Dark World.
For the audience, Tom Hiddleston plays the manipulative Loki, a cunning magician who has a slight penchant for murder and domination. If Tom Hiddleston masters his role to perfection, the actor first wanted to play the character of Thor. In the footage of his audition, he is seen bandaging his muscles and brandishing the Mjolnir hammer. The black wig, however, suits him better than the blonde he wore during his audition. It was finally Chris Hemsworth who got the role of the Norse god. The British actor held no grudge against him: the two men got along "like brothers", according to Natalie Portman (who plays the role of Jane Foster).
And you, do you prefer Tom Hiddleston as Loki or Thor?
