On Monday, May 28, the Twitter account of The Lego Movie unveiled the name and logo of the next film. This sequel is therefore entitled The Great Lego Adventure 2 – Second Part. If it does not stand out for its originality, the title remains clear.
On the Twitter account The LEGO Movie 2, an image revealed to the public the name of the future Lego movie. The logo in the colors of the French flag (and American, and English, and Russian, and Australian, and Cuban…) is built all of brick. The Great Lego Adventure 2 should be released in French cinemas on February 13, 2019. The film was written by the first film's writers, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and rewritten by Bojack Horseman creator Bob Waksberg. It is directed by Mike Mitchel and Trisha Gum (Lego Batman, the movie). This second part will begin directly after the events that occurred in episode one of The Lego Movie.
An unexpected depth?
Producers Dan Lin and Chris McKay announced in a previous interview that they wanted to highlight the biases that can be had. The story of The Lego Movie 2 will be presented from two perspectives: that of Finn, the little boy who controls Legos, and that of his little sister, who comes to attack his world with her Duplos. The imaginations of the two children will confront each other, revealing the "differences and commonalities between the two genders.The film team hopes to expose the unconscious stereotypes that govern our worldview. Without weighing down the subject of the film."There will always be great musical moments with fun songs, action and other crazy things. […]It's going to be a very special movie."
We will have to wait until February 2019 to see the rest of this Great Adventure. Let's hope it too will reach $469.1 million at the box office.
