The Festival 2 Valenciennes 2018 edition is fast approaching and unveils its poster, its special guests and the trades that will be honored. Focus!
Jobs in the spotlight
True to its aspiration to honor various professions of cinema, the Festival 2 Valenciennes has decided to present this year two great professionals: Mario Lurashi (equestrian stuntman) and Gabriel Yared (composer of film music).
Mario Lurashi has collaborated on numerous shows and more than 400 films of very different genres (Cyrano de Bergerac, The Visitors, Germinal, The Daughter of d'Artagnan, Joan of Arc, The Pact of the Wolves, The Brothers Grimm, Jacquou the Crunchy, The Princess of Montpensier, Jappeloup, The Return of the Hero). A true lover of equestrian sports who has dedicated his life to the practice of stuntman. He will be accompanied by 5 stuntmen, acrobats and 12 horses. He will be able to show the different facets of his know-how on a 750m2 track installed in the courtyard of the Caserne Vincent, in the heart of Valenciennes. A fun animation that should seduce lovers of horses, stunts and of course, cinema.
The composer Gabriel Yared has imposed his signature on a global scale by multiplying collaborations with Jean-Luc Godard (Sauve qui peut (la vie)), Jean-Jacques Beineix (La Lune dans le cautter), Bruno Nuytten (Camille Claudel), Robert Altman (Beyond Therapy, Vincent & Theo), Costa-Gavras (Hanna K.), Etienne Chatiliez (Tatie Danielle), Jean-Jacques Annaud (L'Amant), Jean-Paul Rappeneau (Bon voyage), Michel Ocelot (Azur et Asmar) and of course Anthony Minghella (with four scores including Le Patient anglais, which earned him an Oscar), Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (La Vie des autres, co-composed with Stéphane Moucha), Maïwenn (Le Bal des actrices), Angelina Jolie (Au pays du sang et du miel) and Xavier Dolan ( Tom at the Farm, Just the End of the World, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan). A career as heterogeneous as it is prestigious, which deserves to be honored.

Simple and effective, the poster of the Festival de Valenciennes 2018 shows very explicitly his attachment to Mario Lurashi and his equestrian career.
The favorite guest
