The Arab Cinema Festival is back at the IMA

See you at the Institut du Monde Arabe from June 28 to July 8 for the return of the Arab Cinema Festival. The biennial has been absent since 2006 and returns this summer 2018 with more than 80 films in competition. 

The Festival of Arab Cinemas was born in 1992 thanks to the Arab World Institute (IMA). The aim is to democratise and promote Arab cinema in France and Europe. The festival aims to reward both short and feature films produced in 2017 and 2018. Particular emphasis will be placed on Saudi cinema during this edition. Outside the competition, meetings will be organized with professionals in the field. A meeting will address the theme of residencies and writing workshops around the world. The second will focus on the Palestinian film industry. The opportunity to debate on these topics with the main stakeholders. At the same time, a writing workshop will be organized in collaboration with the incubation platform Cinephilia Screenwriting Shorts Lab. Participants will have to write a short film script and the best screenplay will be awarded at the end of the workshop. For film fans, it will also be possible to participate in a workshop to present the different stages of making a film. 

Eleven days of festivities where it will be possible to watch films outside the IMA in some Parisian and provincial cinemas.
