For the first time in 50 years, the unmissable pop-culture event is cancelled! For those who don't know, Comic-Con is the largest fan convention across the Atlantic. It is also the largest gathering of fans of Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and other TV series of the moment. San Diego Comic-Con is the largest pop culture festival in the world! Last year about 135,000 participants from more than 80 different countries gathered for almost three days. This is the event not to be missed!
No Comic-Con this year
Finally, this year… we're going to have to leave all our Superman and other superhero costumes at home. Indeed, the 2020 edition of Comic-Con has been officially cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The organizers of the super-festival announced the news this weekend. This is the first time in its 50-year history that Comic-Con has been cancelled! According to David Glanzer, Comic-Con spokesman:
"This exceptional time requires exceptional measures and while we are saddened to make this decision, we know it is the right decision. We look forward to the moment when we can all come together and share together, in the community we all love and enjoy."
The biggest pop culture festival will return next year, from July 22 to 25, 2021. For people who have purchased badges, organizers explained that they will be able to request a refund or transfer their badges to Comic-Con 2021. All holders of these 2020 badges will receive an email with instructions within a week. At the same time, the group also canceled WonderCon 2020, which was scheduled to be held in March and was initially postponed. Finally, it will not take place this year. The next meeting will therefore be held from 26 to 28 March 2021. Take heart, it's for a good cause after all! It's only part postponed so until next year!
