Twenty-seven years after Terminator – Judgment Day, Linda Hamilton returns to her iconic role as Sarah Connor, in what will be a direct sequel to James Cameron's films. Arnold Schwarzenegger will also be there.
Following the lack of success of Terminator 3, Terminator Renaissance and Genesis, James Cameron decided to resume just after the 2 and forget its sequels. Wishing to breathe new life into his science fiction universe, he starts again where the role of Linda Hamilton ended by bringing it back to life.
"We act as if the other films are a bad dream… Or that they took place in an alternate timeline, which is possible in our multiverse," Cameron said. The creator of the saga resumes his role as producer and leaves the direction to Tim Miller (Deadpool).
This new opus also marks the return of Linda Hamilton to the cast, who resumes her role of Sarah Connor. She will celebrate her 62nd birthday in September 2018. She appeared sharpest and most muscular on the first images that filtered from the shooting, decked out in a bulletproof vest and a sawed-off barrel.
Also on the list is Arnorld Schwarzenegger, who is currently in the middle of training in an effort to reprise his role as the T-800. However, we do not know which one he will embody: the villain (ranked in the top 100 most popular villains) or the protector (who had disappointed a good number of spectators). Already at the time this change had divided the fans. Remember that the brave Schwarzy has a hell of a guts to resume training for this film, since he recently underwent open heart surgery (which he woke up by declaring "I'm Back". This man is definitely the Terminator to the end).
A new Terminator will also be in the game. This is Gabriel Luna, who you have probably already seen in Marvel Agents of Shield. This film will certainly take us back to the 90s, since a young John Connor was also cast.
The scenario has not yet been disclosed. What direction will James Cameron and his team take? To find out, go to theaters in November 2019.
