10 years after the last part of the successful saga TAXI, created and written by Luc Besson, a fifth film will be released. This was announced by the director of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". Taxi 5 will be directed by Franck Gastambide, author and actor of KAÏRAS and PATTAYA.
Forget Samir Naceri and Frederic Diefenthal. According to this photo, it is Franck Gastambide himself and Malik Bentalha who will embody the new duo of this next opus. Les 2 compères de Pattaya (released last February, and collecting 2 million admissions) will bring a new breath to the saga dear to Luc Besson whose total had already brought more than 27 million admissions in 4 films (between 1997 and 2007).
For his part, Franck Gastambide lives there a " teenage dream" by being entrusted with the role of director. The one who has already gathered 3 million spectators in 2 films, was even cited as a favorite to make the next Asterix in the cinema and he is not ready to stop there.
An inseparable duo
Franck Gastambide and Malik Bentalha are real friends and see each other every day. It is therefore logical that they will soon find themselves on the bill. The director with the triple hat (writer and actor) did not say more about the concept of the next TAXI (reboot? suite? remake?), but we know that the release date is already announced, and it will be in January 2018 that we will have an appointment with the new box office car.
