The Star Wars : The High Republic project, which will kick off the next Star Wars saga, is postponed to 2021! Following Covid 19 of course… Another victim of the coronavirus… The next Star Wars saga is also postponed due to the global pandemic. Star Wars: The High Republic is part of the very ambitious Project Luminous, presented a few months ago by Lucasfilm.
What is the Luminous Project ?
Project Luminous is a universe where movies, books, comics and children's novels will all be interconnected. This project will reveal the Galactic Republic 200 years before Palpatine seized power to create the Empire. Enough to make the mouth water for all Star Wars fans. We can also speculate on the fact that one or more Disney+ series are happening in parallel with this upcoming trilogy.

These are the words of Michael Siglain, creative director of Lucasfilm about the project. But despite these very encouraging words, the project is likely to fall behind schedule.
Light of the Jedi
The kick-off was supposed to be given by the first book on this period: Light of the Jedi. But this one was postponed by several months… Thus, the novel should be published on January 5, 2021 instead of August 25, 2020. This book was to launch the first phase of Lucasfilm's reinvention. A necessary reinvention after the production mess of the last trilogy. Despite the lag of Star Wars: The High Republic, it seems that season 2 of The Mandalorian is available in due course. So enjoy the first season and the making-of of the series while waiting for the sequel! And for the most addicted, there is obviously thefinal season of The Clone Wars which is to be consumed without moderation.
