As the star of the Walk of Fame dedicated to Donald Trump is about to be retired, Mark Hamill has made a suggestion for his replacement: Carrie Fisher, aka our late Princess Leia (sniff).
Since coming to power, Donald Trump has had a stormy relationship with Hollywood and its representatives. And it may not get better in the coming weeks, since the West Hollywood City Council has just voted to remove the star dedicated to Trump from the iconic Walk of Fame. The reason given is simply his "disturbing treatment of women as well as other actions". A political action whose symbolism is important in this period of freedom of speech concerning violence inflicted on women.
That's where Mark Hamill, our legendary Luke Skywalker, comes in to add another layer. We must have that the actor never misses an opportunity to throw a little pike at our friend Donald as soon as he has the opportunity. The bugger even reread the President's tweets by taking the voice of the Joker, since he was the voice actor of this character in the series of the 90s. So it was shortly before the decision to retire the star was made that the 66-year-old actor made this proposal:
What if we replaced it (editor's note: the star) with someone who really deserves it? Like Carrie Fisher.
How about replacing it with someone who really earned it? Like @carrieffisher https://t.co/f1XMXanpWP

However, if the West Hollywood City Council voted to remove this star, it still has to convince the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Indeed, if this star were to disappear, it would be a first in the history of this emblematic place. For the record, even Bill Cosby's star is still on the sidewalk, despite the many complaints of sexual assault. Ditto for Kevin Spacey, currently blacklisted by many studios (including Netflix) following the scandals published about him. However, it must be admitted that replacing Trump's with one dedicated to Carrie Fisher would be a sensational tribute to this actress who left too soon, leaving behind many fans orphaned by their princess.
Will this replacement of Trump's star by Carrie Fisher happen? Hard to say right now. In any case, this is an excellent suggestion from Mark Hamill, who is known to be affected by the death of his friend Carrie. And in the end, even if this replacement is not done, there is no doubt that the interpreter of Luke Skywalker will find other opportunities to make fun of Father Donald.
