The director of Jurassic World was directed to the exit door of LucasFilm Studios. Star Wars IX is therefore temporarily orphaned.
The Star Wars saga has just lost the director of its ninth episode! Indeed, Colin Trevorrow would have had some disagreements with LucasFilm, the parent company of Star Wars, due to "divergent visions on the project". This is in any case what says a press release published Tuesday by the studios. It seems that the director has contested all versions of the script that would have been proposed to him. Not very nice.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that LucasFilm teams have had to deal with this kind of problem. Before Colin Trevorrow on episode IX, it was directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord who abandoned the spin-off on Han Solo, before Ron Howard came to save the ship. It is therefore understandable that Kathleen Kennedy, the president of LucasFilm, has decided to no longer bother with dissatisfied directors and only wants to work with someone who would be on the same wavelength as her team.
Episode IX of Star Wars remains temporarily without a director and no name has been officially mentioned for the moment. Perhaps the future of the saga will remain in the hands of Rian Johnson, currently at the helm of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi . Some also speculate that J.J. Abrams, who directed Episode VII: The Force Awakens, could return to conclude this new trilogy.
Case to follow very closely! In the meantime, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 13th! We let you rediscover the backstage of the shooting, waiting for more images.
