While the technical team mourns the loss of Anton Yelshin, Paramount has just confirmed a fourth episode of the new Star Trek saga initiated by J.J. Abrams with Chris Hemsworth alongside Chris Pine!
Not even back yet that the Enterprise is already preparing to leave! While the 3rd part, Star Trek Beyond will be released this week, the reboot deployed by J.J Abrams has a bright future ahead of him, since it turns out that his sequel is already in the boxes of Paramount. As stated by the famous centenary major, in association with Bad Robot, the feature film will be subject to filiation, especially with the return of Chris Hemsworth, who played the father of the hero James Kirk, in the first opus of the saga.
A significant contribution to the saga, Chris Hemsworth joins the rebooted franchise of J.J. Abrams to reprise his role as George Kirk, the father of the famous Captain Kirk of the Enterprise. After joining Disney and the Avengers, this is very good news for Paramount who will benefit from the very good bankable capital of this actor. Moreover, he has perfectly adapted to humorous projects (Vive les Vacances, Ghostbusters 2016), closer to the tone of Star Trek, especially with Beyond, the third part. The plot would then be as follows:
In this new space and epic adventure, Chris Pine aka Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never expected to meet but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father.
Unfortunately, Simon Pegg, brilliant interpreter of Scott and writer of Star Trek Beyond, did not wish to rebuild the script of this fourth episode. It will therefore return to J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay to write the script for this Star Trek, knowing that they could have already served as writers of the third episode if Roberto Orci, initially attached to directing, had directed the film. J.J. Abrams and the rest of the original cast are expected to keep their spots and we would wait for the film for 2019 without any director being confirmed yet. We hope that the sequence of sequels will not level the cinematic qualities of this franchise, whose reviews, Beyond included, have always been above Hollywood productions.
