With such a beautiful cast, it's hard to ignore the first images of Terrence Malick's next film!
The first trailer of Song to Song was released on February 17 and we already have stars in our eyes! On the music scene in Austin, Texas, two couples in search of success will do everything to climb the ladder of the cruel world that is that of the music industry. On one side, we find Rooney Mara (Carol) and Ryan Gosling (La La Land) who will play a lyricist and a singer, and on the other Natalie Portman (Black Swan) in the role of a waitress maintained by a magnate of the music industry, Michael Fassbender (Assassin's Creed). A double love triangle that seems to lead Terrence Malick to an extraordinary romance. Between fisheye effects, nightclub lights and close-ups, the trailer really makes us look forward to June 7, the French release date of the film!
After a first photo, it is the turn of the poster to be revealed. This one shows us the central quartet with a retro aesthetic that makes you want to. On the vinyl of the center, one can read the words "Love. Obsession. Betrayal. ", which gives a little idea of the general atmosphere of Song to Song. Alongside this 5-star cast, the director of The Tree of Life has also invited personalities from cinema such as Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Benicio Del Toro, but also from the musical world such as Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Florence and The Machine or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Terrence Malick is known enough to cut some people in editing, itremains to be seen if everyone will be able to slip through the cracks to make a place in the director's universe.
Song to Song will be in French cinemas on June 7, 2017, a little less than a month after the unique screening of Terrence Malick's documentary Voyage of Time.
