During an interview a few days ago, Drew Goddard informed us about the status of the X-Force movie, which is still at the project stage.
We now know: Deadpool 2 introduced the "X-Force". But, long before this team came to life on the big screen, there was talk of starting a feature film exclusively focused on their adventures. Ryan Reynolds has already expressed his enthusiasm to see the anti-hero in such a project, perhaps because he is uncertain about the release of a Deadpool 3.
It is to Drew Goddard, notably screenwriter of Alone on Mars and World War Z, who has the privilege of preparing this film. While promoting his latest feature film, Bad times at the El Royale, a CinemaBlend reporter asked him about the subject.
"It's a good question. I've learned I'm very much a one-movie-at-a-time kind of guy, and they all know. It's the same studio, which is nice, so they can say, 'Okay, get Bad times at the El Royale done.' and then once I get this movie done and get this into theaters we'll turn our attention that way.»
"That's a good question. I've learned that I'm more of the type to make one movie at a time and they all know it [Editor's note: his collaborators at 20th Century Fox]. It's the same studio, which is great, so they can say, "Okay, do Bad times at the El Royale first. And then, with the film finished and released in theaters, we can focus on it. »
It would seem that the X-Force is not a priority for Goddard, who wisely prefers to tackle his latest born first. The filmmaker has probably started working on the script, but we should probably not expect a pre-production before the end of the year see 2019, Bad times at the El Royale released in early October in France and in the USA… And as CinemaBlend recalls, Fox still hasn't set a release date either.
X-Force will therefore mature slowly but surely. While waiting for more information, here is the trailer of Goddard's latest film.
