Peter Pan : one story, many facets
An imaginary country, children who never want to grow up and magic galore… This is the story of Peter Pan, or The Little White Bird as imagined in 1904 Sir James Matthew Barrie in his novel. Touching and amazing, this story had the right to its film adaptation released in 1953 by Disney. Then, Peter Pan, Bell, Hook, Wendy and the rest of the Darling family were seen appearing on screen in several versions. The best known was Steven Spielberg's Hook or Captain Hook's Revenge. An amazing version because it was rather the "return" of Peter Pan than an identical adaptation. Indeed, the director had chosen to show him as an adult, played by Robin Williams. Although the film did not have the success he had hoped for, it still retains a notoriety in the minds of many thanks to its superb cast and its successful childish universe. Also, Neverland touches in its own way on the work of J.Mr. Barrie. In this movie, it's J.Mr. Barrie himself who is presented as a writer looking for a new impetus. He met Llewelyn and his four sons with whom he formed a strong friendship. With them, he finds his child's soul and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Together, they weave the fantastic story of Peter Pan.This time, it is another look that focuses on the work, far from that of fairy tales in the end glittery. That of a child and a writer who continue to dream in the face of a heartbreaking reality. Finally, in 2015, we discovered Pan directed by Joe Wright, the director of Pride and Prejudice. Although the characters are looking for fairy dust, we note the absence of Tinkerbell. Absence of a mythical character rather difficult to accept for fans! But first it is about an orphan kidnapped from Neverland called Pan, who will prove to be a hero during his extraordinary adventures. Note also the release of the film Peter Pan in 2003 (2004 in France), which had not really marked the spirits.
