After the departure of directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Ron Howard took over directing the film. From his first day he had the right to a surprise, and not just any: George Lucas, accompanied by his wife Melody, came to the film set. He was able to encourage the new director in his own way, as Ron Howard himself confides in his interview for Entertainment Weekly :

"He just told me to follow my instincts, you know? I know he feels that fundamentally, first and foremost, these movies are kind of for 12-year-olds, even though he knows it goes way beyond that and the fans have grown up with the show, in a great way. So he didn't give me much advice, except, 'You'll make it.'"

Initially coming to say hello, he finally stayed five hours and participated in the staging of a sequence, which was not planned as revealed by the president of Lucasfilm (Star Wars production company bought by Disney in 2012), Kathleen Kennedy:

"He just intended to stop and say hello, and he stayed for five hours. There's even a little moment in a scene – I can't tell you what, sorry – of the Millennium Falcon where George said, "Why doesn't Han do that?" ».

To know the famous and long-awaited sequence that was able to benefit from the help of George Lucas, we will have to wait until the release in our cinemas of Solo: A Star Wars Story on May 23rd.
