The first Oscar of the night was Best Supporting Actor. In this category, it should be noted that two of the nominees appeared in the credits of one of the favorites of this 90th Academy Awards, 3 Billboards, the panels of revenge.

In a selection of the 2018 Oscars that included big names in world cinema, one name would not speak to the general public. This is Sam Rockwell, a future fifty-year-old American whose filmography includes some great moments of the seventh art. He was one of the outstanding roles of the Green Line. In 3 Billboards, he brilliantly embodies one of the members of the police confronted with this mother ready to do anything to find those responsible for the death of her daughter.

Opposite him, Richard Jenkins nominated for his role in the shape of water (one of this year's big favorites). A new breathtaking performance for an extraordinary actor. Christopher Plummer, one of the last legends of cinema was credited for All the Money in the World. The oldest actor present among the nominees for this 90th Academy Awards. The actor replaced Kevin Spacey following the harassment revelations.

Sam Rockwell still won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, a confirmation for a talented actor that we hope to see more regularly in the cinema. The film is currently in theaters, we highly recommend it.

On the side of the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role, Mary J Blige was one of the beautiful revelations of the year with the drama Mudbound broadcast on Netflix. Octavia Spencer, a regular at the ceremony, was also one of the contestants. And it was Alison Jeanney (who Big Bang Theory fans will recognize) who was consecrated for her role in I, Tonya.

As expected, Dunkirk has distinguished itself at the level of technical Oscars. The film won the Oscars for Best Sound Editing and Best Mixing. The incredible work done on the sound part of the film that perfectly transcribes the oppressive moments of this terrible war explains this result.

Unfortunately the French nominated tonight have not yet been rewarded. Agnès Varda and JR did not win the Oscar for Best Documentary with Visages Villages. They lost to Icarus who is also a great success.

We will remember in addition to the new success of Pixar with Coco, the beautiful conversion of Kobe Bryant (former star of the Likers) who won the Oscar for best animated short film with Dear Basketball.
