The reaction to the announcement was already strong. Yes, Phillippe Lacheau, author of both Babysitting and more recently Marry Me My Buddy, will adapt Nicky Larson. This character is known to all people who grew up in the 90s. And after the release of the trailer, it's not all rosy for Phillippe Lacheau…
Genesis of the project
Phillippe Lacheau announced it in July 2017: A French adaptation of Nicky Larson will see the light of day ! Co-writing with his brother, he promises to try not to disappoint the public. From fans of the manga (named City Hunter), to followers of Club Dorothée (on which the anime was broadcast), there are many people to convince. He even recalled it at the beginning of the shooting.

A poorly received first trailer
And the least we can say is that it is rather difficult to convince these fans… Unveiled Tuesday, the first trailer of the adaptation of Nicky Larson has suffered a real bad buzz. We let you enjoy it just below:

Reactions have since multiplied on the web, mostly negatively. Deemed too far from the original manga, the first images of the film were lynched. Such a lynching that netizens even created the hashtag #UneRéalisationPhilippeLacheau. Judge instead:

And if one might think that Philippe Lacheau lets himself be dismantled, it is not! Fearless like his character, the actor preferred to laugh by posting his own response to the #UneRéalisationPhilippeLacheau
The film is expected in theaters on February 6, the time for the director to show us a little more in the coming months.
