Joaquin Phoenix will play an alcoholic paraplegic in Don't worry, he won't get far on foot, a story from John Callahan's autobiography!
John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix – Her, Inherent Vice) and Dexter (Jack Black) have a car accident after a drunken night. John ends up in a wheelchair, but that's not what will make him stop drinking… However, he ends up undergoing rehab supported by his girlfriend (Rooney Mara) and a mentor (Jonah Hill). It was during this sober period that he discovered a talent: drawings with black humor, satirical and insolent. They will be an international success!
The film was in official competition at the Berlin Film Festival on Tuesday, February 20. It will be released on April 4 in cinemas.
Funny, poignant and inspiring, we can't wait to see the charisma of Joaquin Phoenix and the director of Elephant on the big screen! (And thanks for John Lenon's Isolation in the trailer).
