A look back at DC Comics' two films dedicated to the superhero Shazam.
Shazam! – "Touch My Club"
An old wizard is looking for a pure soul to become a superhero. He finds it in the person of an orphan. Shazam is therefore a teenager who can transform into an adult with superpowers. A breath of fresh air in the DCU, the epitome of the footage is its goofy humor. An excellent entertainment that one would think realized in the eighties. The identification of the target audience is easy given the age of the protagonist. Second knives are irresistible and his situation of being in foster care is very touching. Superman's powers combined with Deadpool's irreverence make for a light-minded, munificent movie.
Shazam! – The rage of the gods – "Just save the world, little one"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM5Hz-csjt8 trying to solve the aporia of combining adolescence and superheroic charges, the three Atlas girls are eager to take away their superpowers from our family of demigods. Even if this second part is quite anecdotal, it remains a pleasant entertainment. This time, the conventional blockbuster aspect weighed more than the comedy side even if the potache humor is still present. A last half hour that will seem familiar to all superhero fans as this music based on action and pyrotechnics with its ridiculous and ugly dragon. Humor cannot make up for all the emptiness of the end.
