The action film worn by actor Tom Cruise, had begun shooting its seventh part in February. Following the pandemic, many film and series shoots had to be stopped. Mission Impossible 7 is one of them.
Filming resumes in September
The film, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, was one of the first to stop filming. Avatar 2 or the Lord of the Rings series have followed the same path. Filming began in February in Venice, Italy, close to the epicenter of the outbreak. That's why he stopped very quickly. However, everything seems to be working out since according to Variety, filming should resume in September! The film is set to be released on November 17, 2021. For Tommy Gormley, the first assistant director of the feature film, during an interview for the BBC that we find on Deadline, the film could be completed in May 2021, he says:
"We hope to restart in September, we hope to visit all the countries we had planned to shoot in and we are looking to film a lot of it in the UK in the studio. So September until the end of April/May is our goal. We are confident that we can do it. "
Confirmation of the statements by actor Simon Pegg, who plays Benji Dunn in the franchise. He told Variety that a September restart was the goal:
"We will start with outdoor activities, it seems quite feasible and, obviously, precautions will be put in place."
The British Film Commission has published safety protocols allowing filming to resume. Even if it is not immediate, September should be enough to put everything in place!
An actor of Mission Impossible has left the adventure
We learned in January that British actor Nicholas Hoult was to play one of the enemies of the main hero, Ethan Hunt. Unfortunately, as a result of the coronavirus, he was forced to give up his role. The stop of filming changed his schedule and he was already hired for the second season of the series The Great. He is replaced by Esai Morales, as confirmed by Variety. The actor is particularly famous for his role as Tony Rodriguez, a lieutenant in New York Police Blues. He also starred in Ozark and How to Get Away with Murder. A most surprising change because of their age difference since Nicholas Hoult is in his thirties and Esai Morales is 57 years old. Mission Impossible 7 seems to have many surprises in store for us!
