The superheroic reunion of Warner Bros. studios is undergoing a real torment. After having many complications and criticism well before its release, it is today at the end of its exploitation in American theaters that Justice League has become the biggest flop of the DCEU.
Justice League has just finished its run in American theaters. And the results at the box office are rather disappointing. With a result of 229 million dollars across the Atlantic, Justice League is therefore in last position of the films of the DC continuity. For comparison, Man Of Steel grossed 291M, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice 300M, Suicide Squad 325M and Wonder Woman 412M.
Justice League does no better internationally
Still screened in a few countries, the global box office of the superhero reunion is still on the way. Despite this, it still remains the biggest disappointment of the DCEU. The film is at $658 million internationally, just behind Man Of Steel, which caps at $668 million. If he can still hope to surpass it, the film will still remain a commercial failure. A superhero overdose? Not really, if we believe the figures of the latest Marvel productions. Black Panther has surpassed 600 million in the United States, and one billion worldwide.
What future for the DCEU?
If we know that a film centered on Aquaman, member of Justice League, is to be released at the end of the year, it is on him that everything rests. And we are rather confident about the first positive screen tests. After many failures (Suicide Squad, Justice League …), Warner quickly reconsidered its extended universe. Other films are also expected for this continuity: Shazam, whose first poster has just been unveiled, Flashpoint or Wonder Woman 2. Other spin-offs will be added to Warner's hunting table: Gotham City Sirens, Joker Origins, Batgirl … So the future seems rather ambitious for Warner Studios, for a better future?
