Hugh Jackman: He doesn't regret his farewell to Wolverine

Two decades ago, Hugh Jackman slipped into the skin of one of the most famous superheroes: Wolverine.  This role of the marginal savior with steel claws propelled the actor to the front of the stage. This allowed him to string together projects with big names in cinema. Notably Christopher Nolan, Woody Allen, Tom Hooper and Denis Villeneuve. So much so that the comic book character now sticks to the skin of the Australian actor, who lent him his features in 9 different films (all the same!). It is true that it is impossible for us to talk about Wolverine without thinking about Hugh Jackman. And three years after hanging up his claws in James Mangold's acclaimed Logan, Hugh Jackman reflected on his departure from the X-Men franchise in an interview with The Daily Beast. The least we can say is that the actor sees with a good eye the fact of being soon replaced by another actor in a reboot. Hugh Jackman confided in the question:

"I knew it was time for me to leave the party, not just for me, but for the character. Someone else will be able to take the character and make it their own. He's too good a character to stop there."

From this confession, it is easy to understand that Hugh Jackman does not regret his farewell with the character of Wolverine. The actor even took the opportunity to make a comparison:

"It's like when you come home and your buddy calls you and says, 'Man, a new DJ just came in and the music is crazy, are you coming back?' And you say, 'That looks cool… but no.' It will go very well with someone other than me."

However, the actor confides that he would not have been against the idea of integrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU ) if the acquisition of Fox by Disney had taken place a few years earlier: "If (the merger) had taken place seven years ago, I would have gone for it!" We imagine that the next actor who puts on the Wolverine costume will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders! It is clear that taking over from Hugh Jackman is certainly not easy. But it will be necessary to be patient before seeing a reboot of the X-Men franchise in the MCU. "It won't be for a while," Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said at a news conference last year.

While waiting to discover the actor who will take over the torch of Hugh Jackman, allow us to (re)make you discover the trailer of the film Logan acclaimed by the critics (and must say that there is something …).
