Released on November 24, House Of Gucci, inspired by Sara Gay Forden's book, is the must-see film in cinemasAt the helm, Ridley Scott, famous director to whom we owe Blade Runner, Gladiator or Thelma and Louise. For his new feature film, he takes us to Milan, where the romance between Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani began. Between power, betrayal and manipulation, the director takes us on a journey with macabre finality.

The rise to power of Maurizio Gucci

Through this feature film, we follow the journey of Maurizio Gucci, grandson and heir of the brand's founder. We discover a man who wants to lead a fairly quiet life, away from the spotlight and fame. He even aspires to work in the legal field, but initially does not plan to do so in the family business. However, his meeting with Patrizia will upset his daily life and his plans for the future. Maurizio will be forced to leave the family cocoon to continue his love affair with Patrizia. He will then work for a time for the father of the latter before working alongside his uncle, which will give him access for the first time to the power of the Florentine family. He will eventually be at his zenith after his wife has put everything in place for him to take the head of the house and succeed his ancestors. A great visionary, Maurizio was able to restore the image and transform the harmful vision that everyone had of the brand by making it avant-garde and at the heart of current trends. In the 90s, Tom Ford joined the family fashion business as a stylist and gave a facelift with colorful collections, grunge, loose cuts and the entry of chic porn into the fashion shows of the house. An unexpected turn that seduced the whole world. Copyright 2021 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc. All Rights reserved.

The descent into hell of Patrizia Reggiani

From the beginning of the film, Ridley Scott paints us the portrait of a woman who, although she was not born well-to-do, behaves as if she parades in the greatest parades. A simple secretary hired in her father's road transport company, Patrizia Reggiani appears every day in clothes of light. A contrast with reality that does not escape the spectators from the first minutes. Throughout the story, we get caught up in the game and we are unconsciously manipulated by this character, played by the splendid Lady Gaga. Sweet and endearing, it is almost with envy that we watch her fall in love with Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), met by chance in a costume party. But now the picture tarnishes over the course of the film and Patrizia Reggiani is transformed into a woman thirsty for success and money, who wants only one thing: to access power and be at the head of the house of Gucci through her husband. A true strategist, Patrizia Reggiani went so far as to drag one of the founders to prison and oust his son in order to be able to lead this empire. Far from the touching and devoted vision we had of her before, Patrizia fools the world with her devious intentions. This will announce the beginning of a long descent into hell with the final destination, prison for 29 years. If we could believe that Patrizia Reggiani wanted the best for her couple, we end up realizing that she is really obsessed with success. An obsession that will create many tensions in the couple. Maurizio will even end up filing for divorce, no longer able to bear to see her conspiring against her own family to achieve her ends. This divorce will sink a little more the Italian in her love and professional setbacks, which will lead her to commit the irreparable. On March 27, 1995, Maurizio Gucci was assassinated under the orders of his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Copyright 2021 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc. All Rights reserved.
