Hostiles is one of the big releases of a particularly busy March. This western by Scott Cooper tackles new themes and is placed in the register of particularly dark and hard films.
Among the phrases that have come out about this film, "the best western since ruthless." Strong words that clearly show in which register this film is placed. Even if the film was not nominated for an Oscar, it is one of the excellent American productions of recent months. On the other hand, some very violent sequences clearly show that the feature film Hostiles is not reserved for everyone.
