The first part of Happy Birthdead, directed by Christopher Landon offers a sequel soon on the big screen with Happy Birthday 2U.
Tree, the main heroine of Happy Birthdead, (played by Jessica Rothe) returns for a second slasher film entitled Happy Birthdead 2U (or Happy Death Day 2U in English).
Among the actors who will surround Jessica Rothe for this second film, we can count on the return of Israel Broussard in the role of her boyfriend Carter Davis. Ruby Modine will also be in the cast to reprise her role as Lori Spengler.
As for the new actors of the cast, we will have the pleasure of discovering Suraj Sharma (the main actor of The Odyssey of Pi) in the role of Samar Ghosh, a scientist and geek who likes to spend his time encoded. As for Sarah Yarkin (who can be found in the series American Horror Story), she will play the role of Dr. Morgan, a geek, scientist a little Tom-Boy, who will be Samar's partner in the crime.
Jessica Rothe has stated that this sequel will elevate the film to a horror film. But it's not just that. Just like the first, we can count on a touch of comedy and romance.
Christopher Lander is the director of this second film shot last May. Universal Pictures has just announced the release of the film on February 14. A great way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
