First Man, Damien Chazelle's new film starring Ryan Gosling, will have its world premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival.

After the success of Whiplash and La La Land, fans of Damien Chazelle are eagerly awaiting the release of his new film, First Man. It is true that the director is beginning to get used to success. Whiplash made him known to the general public and won the award for Best Supporting Actor for J.K Simmons, while La La Land has earned him international fame thanks to the numerous awards he has won. Damien Chazelle does not let go of his actor Ryan Gosling. After La La Land, he is back as the protagonist of his new film, playing the famous astronaut Neil Armstrong.

La La Land also opened the Venice Film Festival in 2016. Universal hopes for a success for First Man as for La La Land two years ago. Obviously, they do not expect such a huge success (14 nominations), but the film has chances in certain categories, including best film or best director, or even best actor for Ryan Gosling.

It is true that the opening films of the Venice Film Festival are often the films contending for the Oscar of the following year, such as Birdman in 2014, Gravity in 2013 or Black Swan in 2010. Whether for the best film, the best director or the best actress, they end up on the front of the stage.

The film is scheduled to be released on our big screens in October. In the meantime, we can only (re)watch his last two hits: Whiplash and La La Land, as well as the trailer of First Man
