Drive my car

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVLC8Wn9QMo nominated in the categories: Best Director (Ryūsuke Hamaguchi), Best Film, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Adapted Screenplay (based on three short stories by Murakami published in the collection Men Without Women). Ryūsuke Hamaguchi concretizes the subjects that are close to his heart as usual, develops others but this time, a touching, intimate feeling emerges. The images, of a clean, clear, beautiful beauty, will give a feeling of euphoria to our heart that will not leave us throughout the film. This undeniable achievement of his art earned him, among others, the screenplay prize for Drive My Car at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Globe for best foreign language film for Drive My Car.

Madres paralelas:

Nominated in the categories: Best Actress (Penélope Cruz), Best Film Music (Alberto Iglesias) Always equal to himself, but with that touch of wisdom that increments his films more and more, Almodovar walks us through the most intimate paths of his country, shows us his affection and shares his roots. He returns with subjects that are close to his heart: the Spanish Civil War and everything related to the question of mothers. He again chose to be accompanied by Alberto Iglesias, his regular composer since The Flower of My Secret (1995). His electro and experimental tendencies reinforce the melodramatic side, the effects of Greek tragedy with strong post-war soap opera orientations. Penelope Cruz, bubbly, magnificent as we know her, would have recognized this role as the best given by Almodóvar. As a gift that would have allowed him to fulfill himself. That's one of the great aspects of the director: his way of making a role, the role of a lifetime. And this, with the same actor or actress for each film.

Dune:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHt8tCHbB2M nominated in the categories: Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay (adapted from Frank Herbert's novel Dune), Best Set Design and Art Direction, Best Costumes, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Film Music. Dune, with the charismatic Timothée Chalamet. Nothing to do with David Lynch's version, to our delight. The production has not skimped in terms of means that plunge us into the special atmosphere of Frank Herbert's novels. The film's soundtrack is composed by Hans Zimmer, to whom we owe, among others, the soundtrack of Black Rain, Thelma and Louise, The Lion King, or Gladiator. And the cinematography of Greig Fraser who had managed, in the case of the film Lion, to walk us through the landscapes of India or Australia as if we were present. The only problem with this version? We have been promised the sequel for 2023 and these days, the sequels are often very uncertain.
