In director Damien Chazelle's new feature film, Ryan Gosling puts on his astronaut costume and sets out to conquer the moon as Neil Armstrong.
"This is a small step for man, but a giant leap for humanity. »
After the triumphant La La Land released in 2016, director Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling reunite for a brand new project: First Man. Following the enthusiasm generated by the publication of the first photos of the film, Universal Studios now unveils the trailer, which announces an exciting film.
Alongside Claire Foy (The Crown), the Canadian actor plays the famous astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the Moon on July 21, 1969. While the broad outlines of the final outcome are known, the dangerous process of the Apollo 11 mission remains unknown.
In this film, Damien Chazelle focuses on the dangerousness of the exercise, focusing on the difficulties encountered throughout the preparation and exploration, but also on the feelings of the astronauts and their loved ones. Indeed, the Oscar-winning director "explores the sacrifices behind the mission" and focuses more on the human dimension. Damien Chazelle highlights the anguish that gripped Neil Armstrong and his astronaut teammates, as well as the fear of families.
After Lalaland and Whiplash, there is no doubt that this film about the "most dangerous mission in history" will attract viewers. First Man, based on the biography First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong , written by James Hansen, will hit the big screen next fall, on October 17.
