We had gotten used to finding Vin Diesel and "his family" at the controls of big cars every two years but for the next film, we will have to show (a lot) of patience!
There is something new about Universal Pictures. The studio shakes up its program a little by announcing that Fast & Furious 9, scheduled for April 19, 2019 in the United States, will unfortunately be released in theaters only on April 10, 2020. Universal has not yet given a justification but we can imagine that the studio has to deal with the very busy schedules of the various stakeholders in the saga.
This date of April 10, 2020 was initially occupied by the animated film Trolls 2, the sequel to the surprise success of 2016. And in order not to release two of its big machines on the same day, Universal has decided to advance The Trolls 2 to February 14 (right for Valentine's Day!) In the United States.
Now, the Fast & Furious saga has become a major issue for the studio. Indeed, the last two episodes have brought in the tidy sum of more than a billion dollars each at the global box office. Cute!
As for the Trolls, the first animated film had accumulated the sum of 346.8 million dollars worldwide, half of which on American territory.
Fans of the franchise that we are will still be able to wait thanks to the live tour that arrives in 2018. So high hearts!
