Ewan McGregor does not hide his enthusiasm at the idea of reprising his role as Obi-wan in the Star Wars universe, even if no project is in the pipeline according to him.

Interviewed by our colleagues from Première, the actor confided in Star Wars, the possibility of his return, the experience he lived through these films and his feelings about the seventh opus.

"Every time I talk about it, it feels like I'm begging for work, it's embarrassing! In fact, I've always thought there's a story to tell between the last one I did and Alec Guinness' first. There is nothing planned, no one has approached me. But I would be willing to do it. It would be fun to shoot this story now that I'm older. I would be the right age, by the way. I'm 45 years old, Alec Guiness was what, in his sixties? I could do two!"

Then the actor left a few words about Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

"It's interesting what George Lucas thinks, who thinks the film didn't advance the franchise the way he did. I'm not sure what to make of that. In its action movie aspect, I didn't really find Star Wars. But I really liked the rest, it was familiar. It took me back to the original movies, and we all love the first movies. I love seeing Stormtroopers and hearing this music again. And the new players are really excellent."

Ewan McGregor will be behind the camera for the first time soon with American Pastoral. As for Star Wars, the final trailer of Rogue One has just fallen before a release in sixty days.
