Back on a festival that put the small dishes in the big ones. This year, The Peacock Society took place over 3 days thanks to the 14th of July bridge. One more day, for our greatest happiness!
Let's take a closer look.
A successful scenography
The place was the same as that of previous editions, in the greenhouses of the Floral Park in Vincennes. A place that by its architecture adapts well to an event of this kind. For the occasion, several spaces had been arranged. Outside, the chill area offered deckchairs to rest as well as wooden facilities to sit. The music of the Squarehouse was broadcast, which made it possible to follow the sets while resting a little. A screen rebroadcast the videos that festival-goers made in the Adidas space. The layout of the bars was well thought out, since there were outside and inside, at strategic points. The main aisle was reserved for food stalls that offered varied menus.
Inside, the luminous play was prodigious. Indeed, no matter the scenes, whether the Wharehouse, the Squarehouse or the RA Club, the light atmosphere was majestically treated. A real adaptation with the artist and the emotions he transmitted. Whether techno, deep house, minimal or even more high, the atmosphere and atmosphere followed. It was really beautiful to watch because thanks to the lights we were diving even more into the music and the world of the artist.
Exceptional sets and artists
This year, with one more day, The Peacock Society line-up was more than extraordinary ! The choice was hard and sometimes even real torture. We had to run from side to side to try to see some of each of the artists we wanted to listen to. Not only the choice of the line-up was very well done, but in addition the sets proposed by the artists were very worked! They had fun on stage and it contributed to the magical atmosphere of this festival.
I regret not being able to epilogue on each of the sets lived, but it seems important to note that the live of Kink aka Cyrillic was perfectly built, increasing in power little by little. The duo Bicep who rarely pass in France completely transcended the crowd, alternating between their own titles and digged titles. Laurent Garnier , who had already made a sublime set last year, managed to surpass himself during his 4 hours. A crazy vibe and a real cohesion between him and his audience. Surgeon did a live of rare violence on which people went wild and did not stop dancing.
What about the b2b between Margaret Dygas and Bambounou ? Magic! The organization had a brilliant idea by bringing these two DJs together on stage! As well as the b2b between Len Faki and Rodhad which was just as great. It was really unexpected and unheard of! The RA club also brought in interesting artists, including the very good Dax J. An incredible human warmth emanated from the place because of all the people dancing!
Good organization
Often the black spot of festivals is their organization. Many organizations or collectives know who to play, but being able to manage everything perfectly is a real challenge! Like last year, The Peacock Society was cashless which allows you not to use your credit card in the evening. Crates were therefore available at the entrance but also inside to be able to recharge our bracelets. During the festival people passed by to prevent the waste from lying on the ground and thus kept the site clean. The artists followed one another perfectly without any technical problems.
It was really a very well managed edition. A supercharged atmosphere and a real electronic communion. We even saw a couple in their sixties who danced the 3 nights on the front of the Wharehouse. They were superb to look at. No matter which artist was in front of them, they loved it and danced. In addition, as every year in festival, the funny outfits were linked. Between unicorns and Pikachu, there was something for everyone!
This edition was by far my favourite and I think this time The Peacock Society has set the bar high for other upcoming festivals. I think it's going to be complicated to do better or match them!
I can't leave you without leaving you with the Maceo Plex set closing on Saturday night!
See you next year, for a new edition that we are already looking forward to!
