Anecdotes from the film

Like all movies, E.T. : the alien hides some anecdotes that are not always known to all! Here are a few:

  • Harrison Ford starred in the film but was cut during editingThe actor shot several scenes of the film, including the role of the principal. This passage was cut during the 1982 film version. The reason? All the attention was on the comedian and not on the action.
  • Cartridges from the video game adaptation of the film buried in the desert? Long considered a mere rumor, the news is confirmed in 2014. Video game cartridges are found in the desert. Indeed, considered one of the worst video games ever released, the adaptation of the movie E.T. for the Atari console disappeared from circulation as quickly as it entered! The unsold cartridges were all buried in the New Mexico desert. They were found almost 30 years later almost intact.
  • Police weapons have been replaced by walkie-talkies. In the 2002 version, weapons were banned. This means that they were no longer allowed. This change can be seen in the scene where the police are chasing E.T. They no longer had weapons in their hands but walkie-talkies.

These little anecdotes approach the film from a new angle! Which is always appreciable for a film that is one of the great classics.
