E-Cinéma has managed to make a place for itself in the various Festivals even before the platform was launched. We think of course of My Friend Dahmer or The Bachelors presented in Deauville in 2017. But we can also mention the Festival du Film Policier de La Beaune, where the film La mémoire assassine will be presented this year.

Murderous Memory is an adaptation of the bestseller My Murderous Memory, written by South Korean writer Kim Young-Ha. Noted for works such as La mort à demi-mot or L'empire des lumières, his works have had the right to be translated into more than a dozen languages.Kim Young-Ha won no less than eight literary prizes in South Korea between 1999 and 2013.

Synopsis: Byung-su is a former serial killer with Alzheimer's disease. When several murders are committed around his home, his suspicions fall on his daughter's boyfriend. But very quickly a doubt arises: are these murders not committed by none other than himself?

With such a fascinating basic premise, there is no doubt that this work will make us doubt reality and each character. To this should be added a sober and oppressive atmosphere, as Asian cinema knows how to stage them so well.

The Beaune Police Film Festival will last from 4 to 8 April and will present eight films in competition from various countries. It remains to be seen if Murderous Memory will stand out among this selection of promising films!
