While the Disney + streaming platform has been a hit since its release, the brand can unfortunately not excel as much in theaters. The Coronavirus pandemic continues to strike. This time, she pushes back the two animated films Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon to November 2020 and March 2021.
Animated feature films are always more realistic in their themes. Vice Versa for example pushes us to assume our feelings, because life is not always idyllic. As for the princesses, they no longer fight to find the prince of their dreams, but for their freedom (like Rapunzel or Rebel). Disney shows us young girls who dream of travel and adventure (Vaiana) or of realizing the job of their dreams, all without fear of getting their hands dirty (Tiana in The Princess and the Frog).

Soul

This future very Jazzy animated film is offered to us by Disney and Pixar. In Soul, we follow the adventures of Joe Gardner in the streets of New York. Written by Pete Docter, the story is quite psychology-oriented, since Joe finds himself in a fantasy world where he must search for his soul. There he befriends 22, an innocent soul who has not yet experienced all the beautiful things the world has to offer. Poetic, abstract and dreamlike, Soul promises to be a beautiful message of openness to the world. Initially scheduled for June 24, 2020, it is postponed to November 25, 2020.Rediscover the trailer, released last November.

Raya and the Last Dragon

https://www.instagram.com/p/B-7jP6OJF2i/ Offered only by Disney this time, Raya and the Last Dragon seems to be a very singular film. This fantasy adventure film is directed by Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins. The sets are immersed in the culture of Southeast Asia and more specifically in an alternate reality called "Lumanda". On this Earth reigns an ancient civilization where five clans of the land of the dragon live. Raya will conquer the last dragon. Initially scheduled for November 2020 it is finally postponed to March 2021. So let's try to be patient… Let's give the big franchises time to regain their strength in order to be even more surprising than we thought!
