Disney Studios does not intend to stop at the adaptations of the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion attractions for future years and, above all, for our greatest pleasure. After the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion attractions, it is the "turn" of one of the most famous of them: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or more commonly known as Tower of Terror. The attraction will therefore benefit from a live-action adaptation within the firm of Mickey Mouse. Good news never comes alone, we learn that Scarlett Johansson, twice nominated for the Oscars, and poster of the film Black Widow, will be the star and producer of this film.

It is the Collider site that reveals this information. At this time, neither Disney nor the star have confirmed the news. It therefore remains to be taken with tweezers. Josh Cooley, director of Toy Story 4 and screenwriter of Vice-Versa was commissioned to write a script for this film. If you want details, they are not on the agenda at the moment. The actress will produce the film through her production company, These Pictures, alongside Jonathan Lia. Although there is no director attached to the film yet, Disney would like it to be ambitious. So maybe we should expect a great filmmaker. In fact, Johansson has earned two Oscar nominations for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. She also has a lead role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 
Tower of Terror is obviously based on popular attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney California Adventure, Tokyo DisneySea and Walt Disney Studios. We call back (but is it really necessary?) that these parks offer their visitors a free fall in elevator, of several floors, with different scenarios depending on the parks. In this attraction, a Rod Serling in alternate mode is the narrator. Just the queue is the first challenge as it is so long! But fans will say that it contributes to the immersion and the story being told. The attraction had already benefited from a film adaptation. Remember, it was in 1997, in the TV movie The Ghost of Halloween with a certain Steve Guttenberg and a very young Kristen Dunst. Also, since 2015, a new film was in development when John August was asked to write a story centered on 5 people in a posh hotel who take an elevator and disappear after being struck by lightning. 
A new boon for Disney
Following the worldwide success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the big-eared firm hastened to transform its flagship and most popular attractions into movies. We imagine that the new project will be just as family and spectacular as Pirates of the Caribbean or the next film this summer, Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. We also remember In pursuit of tomorrow which paid tribute to the Tomorrowland thematic area. Finally, for your information, Disney-owned ABC also made a TV pilot that was based on the Big Thunder Mountain attraction in 2013, but it was not ordered in series.
