The mercenary and fearsome assassin of DC Comics Deathstroke, could be entitled to his own movie. The latter would be directed by Gareth Evans with, headlining, Joe Manganiello.

The vagaries within the DCU still echo. Deathstroke was originally intended to serve as a super villain against the Dark Knight in The Batman, directed by Ben Affleck according to a tweet from the latter. Eventually, Ben Affleck left the project, which was later taken over by Matt Reeves. But the director decided to start the script from scratch, not letting any details slip away about his next film. So it was a big disappointment for the fans and for Joe Manganiello, who was supposed to play the mercenary in The Batman.

According to The Wrap , Gareth Evans, director of the very good The Raid, would have responded to the request of Warner, they were looking for a director for their project Justice League Dark. Unfortunately, the director wouldn't get the project, but he told them about an idea for a movie about Deathstroke. The project would have pleased and Gareth Evans would be in full contract negotiations with the studios of Warner, he should take Joe Manganiello for the role of the super villain.

Such a project directed by Gareth Evans is very promising. Seeing what the director has offered us with his two parts of The Raid, we look forward to seeing what he is able to do with a budget such as Warner.

While waiting for this project to materialize, or, for the nostalgic, you can find Deathstroke in the animated series Teen Titans.
