Criticism The War of the Lulus

"Are there German pastry chefs? I thought they were all soldiers" I went to see The War of the Lulus a little out of spite but it turned out to be a most judicious decision. I was not predestined to love this film because it was quite resistant to the genre, but it was cleverly inspired by The War of the Buttons. I will try to convey the impression I had with a little emphasis. The film is filled with aphorisms imbued with innocence and carelessness inherent in childhood cohabiting with an armed conflict whose imperturbability of these children would almost make us forget the context. First of all, the young actors are tremendously promising. Love is approached neither too much nor too little, unlike usual in films on which we insist too heavily. I also appreciated the chemistry between Didier Bourdon and Ahmed Sylla although too little shown for a very simple reason. The war scenes even if not plethoric are well rendered. The ending bypasses the easy by avoiding being idyllic and perhaps announces a sequel if success arises. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_sgP45ej7g
