The very first poster of "Alien: Covenant" has just been unveiled by 20th Century Fox. This film is presented as the sequel to "Prometheus", and therefore the second part of a trilogy prequel to the Alien saga. As we can see, the poster is much closer to the old films.
Disconcertingly simple but effective, it shows us a Xenomorph, an alien emblematic of H's work .A. Giger, yet little present in "Prometheus". We see only part of his terrible and famous face (if we can call it a face), half hidden in the darkness of the image, otherwise totally black. The head of the monster is in the center of the poster, which suggests that it will have a much greater importance in this film than in the first part of the trilogy. Apart from the American release date, there is one word, only one: "Run". This order given to us, as if we had no other solution than to flee from this terrifying alien, already sets the atmosphere of the film. This sticky and oppressive atmosphere, which Ridley Scott masters so well.
For this new opus, whose release is scheduled for August 23, 2017 in France, we will find Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. Katherine Waterston ("Steve Jobs", "Fantastic Beasts") will also be there, as well as Danny McBride and Demian Bichir ("The Dirty Eight").
The US release date has been brought forward. Initially scheduled for early August, it will take place on May 19, as can be read on the poster.
For those who do not know the story, here is the synopsis:
"On their way to a planet at the end of the galaxy, the crew of the Covenant ship thinks they are landing on an unexplored paradise, but discover a dark and dangerous world, whose only inhabitant is the android David, survivor of the cursed expedition of Prometheus. »
