Alert!!! Dave, the adoptive father of Alvin, Simon and Theodore seems well on his way to asking his new girlfriend to marry him. The problem: the son of the latter takes a malicious pleasure in persecuting the three squirrels. If they do not want him to become their half-brother, they will have to prevent this marriage proposal. Even if it does not revolutionize the genre of the family comedy, Alvin and the Chipmunks: at the bottom of the box, the fourth installment of the franchise can be watched without difficulty. And hey, it's above all a film for children, isn't it? And so do they.?

Kids love it.

My 4-year-old kid told me that day when I was asked to go to Alvin's premiere: "Daddy! I want to go see the movie with the three squirrels! They jump everywhere, they do "zouinnngues", and then they do "poupoupou" and then they do a lot of stupid HAHA! It's so funny!I let you imagine the enthusiasm with which he mimicked me the different situations interviewed during the trailer that had passed between two episodes of "Aces of the Jungle". How to decline this invitation to this preview ..?

I then presented myself, with a dull eye and a heavy step, in this movie theater where other adults played like me in the same contrast to the unfeigned excitement of the string of excited bacon, eager to discover the adventures of the mischievous squirrels.

Pressed into my chair, I was preparing for my ordeal (1h30 from Chipmunk, it may seem very VERY long). Well, is it because my kid was at full strength and having fun, I don't know, but I ended up having a pretty cool time.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Comedy

So we're in the pure family comedy huh? Rich in adventures, nice jokes, good feelings and life lessons. This road-movie for shorts is watched without difficulty and sometimes, we even catch ourselves laughing heartily with our kid.

It is dynamic, festive , at certain touching moments, in short, all the ingredients to delight and distract our charming little ones. And even creepy sometimes! Finally creepy… For a 4-year-old. But at the same time I never really understood. I had surprised him in front of a "Transformers" of Michael Bay, fascinated, not at all shocked or afraid. But then, it is enough that Alvin is missing and may not be able to get into the moving car and there, beware, stress rate at its peak, "Daddy I'm too scared, serve me in your arms". They are strong these diabolical writers to create such an attachment to the hero with our poor little ones. In any case, it is not the villain of the story, more stupid than evil, who will make our "tits nenfants" shudder.

Energetic and… Oh yeah… Musical…

The film is cleverly edited so that we never get bored, alternating action scenes, sentimental and songs.

Well, the songs… Yes, for those who don't know, the Chipmunks are stars, stage beasts (Haha! "Beasts". Oh yes, they are squirrels. Bug, I make myself laugh all by myself!) who happily cover the hits in vogue. And the chipmunk, he has a voice we will say… Very high, which gives the impression of listening to a 33T at 45T speed. We get used to it quite quickly this said (yes, I assure you), even if at first we only understand one word out of two.But then when they sing… Personally, I had to use my hours of yoga to avoid jumping out of my chair and running away. I was just getting away with a hair bristle. (Luckily, no one was sitting right behind me). But otherwise, with either earplugs or a good noise-reducing headset, in which a Morcheeba-style trip-hop plays thoroughly to melt the peak of stress, and I'm sure we easily overcome the test of singing moments.

Grown-ups, we thought of you!

And then for the grown-ups, the film is full of cinematic references ("The Matrix", "Once Upon a Time in the West" to name a few) that it is always nice to recognize. And we laugh a second time when our kid looks at us puzzled because for him, close-ups on the eyes like Sergio Leone, it's not really funny.

To conclude, and even if I am convinced that the Alvin franchise is only a vast campaign of sneaky com to support the sale of helium cylinders (in order to delirious during wedding and New Year celebrations. Go confess! You too have tried!), this family musical will fly without problem with children and does not lack assets so that adults, in chore of care, find their account. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a movie not to be missed, but on a rainy weekend, it will easily save the day to chase boredom away in your boys.

Finally, my son's opinion: "It was too funny, these squirrels do anything, and I liked it a lot! »
