Released in theaters on January 27, 2016, this magnificent French animated film by Rémi Chayé, awarded the Audience Award at the Annecy Animation Film Festival, is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray (19.99 euros). It contains the commentary of the director and crew of the film as well as the making of a duration of 38 minutes (with the scenes that were not integrated into the final rendering).
This animated film plunges us into Russia in the early 1880s. A 14-year-old girl, Sasha, born into an aristocratic family in St. Petersburg, is fascinated by her grandfather, Olukin, a famous explorer. However, it has been 2 years since the latter left to conquer the North Pole aboard his magnificent ship, the Davaï, and has still not returned. Heir to her courage and tenacity, Sacha will risk everything to find her grandfather's boat and embark on an adventure, at the top of the world.
With its particular graphics, the drawing has no contour line, only remains of the flat colors, for a remarkable visual rendering. This 1h20 film is an initiatory quest where little Sacha will mature in contact with a character very different from those she met before. Tout en Haut du Monde is a beautiful life lesson for young and old (From 7 years old).
