Orson Welles' unfinished film, produced and restored by Netflix, will finally see the light of day on the platform; The Other Side of the Wind, presented at the Venice Film Festival on August 31, is revealed in a very intriguing trailer.

It was the cursed film of its author, the unfinished masterpiece that might never have seen the light of day. Partly shot between 1970 and 1976, it had been abandoned by its director because of a dispute with its producers; Forty years later, The Other Side of the Wind, an autobiographical and melancholic story of a director who tries to return to the front of the stage, is finally revealed to the delight of cinephiles.

It's hard not to see in this film one of the most personal works of its director; Netflix promises us great cinema that, we hope, will pay tribute to Welles as it should without distorting the cinematographic substance so dear to its author. The Other Side of the Wind, a mix between period black and white and Hollywood colors all in contrasts, is to be discovered now in an ambitious trailer.

We would have hoped to be able to discover it in the cinema, but for now we will have to be satisfied with the Netflix release, on November 2nd. The Other Side of the Wind will be available at the same time as Morgan Neville's documentary on the set of the original film, They'll Love Me When I'm Dead.
