The year 2023 is fast approaching and you have not seen as many films as hoped? Don't panic, it's not too late yet… We have selected for you three must-see films, which will soon be available for streaming or in cinemas!
Superheroes (and animals…) in a new light with Krypto!
Do you like a superhero story version abandoned animals? This is the bias that Jared Stern and John Whittington offer you with the animated film Krypto and super-animals. Find your favorite heroes of the Justice League in a situation of incapacity that requires the intervention of Krypto (voiced by the singer Soprano), the super-dog of Superman and his band of merry lies: Ace the dog, PB, the pig drooling, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel. They will have to learn to control their new powers in order to fly to the rescue of the superheroes kidnapped by the evil Louna (Lex Luthor's dog). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSDSzi_qyAw The film Krypto will be released on July 28 in France and is obviously aimed at a young audience. That said, all fans of the DC Comics universe will enjoy finding the animated versions of their favorite heroes and references to the original universe. While waiting for the movie to come out, you can see Buzz Lightyear released last week.
A new image of crocodiles with Enzo, the Crocodile …
In parallel, another animal is also honored in the latest film by Will Speck and Josh Gordon: Enzo, the croco! A film based on the Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile book series that blends shooting and animation to perfection to offer a touching musical about Enzo and Josh's friendship. Josh Primm is a little boy who moves with his family to New York but who, like any young boy, struggles to adapt to his new environment. This is not without counting on his meeting with Enzo, a crocodile like no other, who likes to sing, take baths and eat caviar -among others- and who above all, lives in the attic of his new house! Then follow the new adventures born from this touching friendship, which will be unveiled in the cinema on October 26, 2022… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdrNx02Q3qg
Fears, love, family… Humans!
And finally, to stay on the theme of family, the film The Humans by Stephen Karam, adapted from the eponymous play (four Tony Award wins in 2016) published in 2015 by Karam himself will be available on August 12 on MUBI. The cast includes Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird, Booksmart), Richard Jenkins (Spotlight, The Shape of Water), Jayne Houdyshell (Dr. March's Daughters), Amy Schumer (Crazy Amy), Steven Yeun (Burning, Minari) and June Squibb (Nebraska, Soul). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp3Whb77eXc The film centers around a family that gets together for Thanksgiving. Nothing could be more normal, at first glance… But as Erik Blake gathers three generations of his Pennsylvania family, things begin to strangle … In his daughter's apartment in Manhattan, the sun goes down and the tension gradually rises; Everyone's fears are revealed. A film that is fun, piercing and mesmerizing and that explores the hidden fear of a family bound by love. A must see!
