Halloween is finally coming to Pokémon Go! For the 3rd year in a row, players will encounter more Spectre and Darkness type Pokémon. However, Niantic has even more surprises in store for us!
Just like last year, the Pokémon Go mobile game celebrates Halloween. The event, which ends on November 1, offers players the opportunity to catch new Pokémon straight from the Sinnoh region. New Raid bosses are also capturable as well as special items in the shop.
This is Halloween!
Obviously, theSpectre and Darkness t ypes are honored in this new special Halloween update. While players can capture new Pokémon from the 4th generation since October 16, 4 others are now available in the wild: Baudrive and Grodrive as well as Moufouette and Moufflaire. It is also possible to capture Baudrive chromatic version (or shiny) in the wild!
Another addition: a new special study by Professor Willow, entitled "A Scary Message", is available during the event! Consisting of 2 phases, it ends with the possible capture of another Pokémon of the 4th generation introduced in this update: Spiritomb. To complete this quest, you will have to complete 6 different tasks . You will have to catch 10 Spectre type Pokémon and 10 Dark Pokémon, make 8 great throws, use 108 framby berries, visit 8 new Pokéstops and finally capture 108 Pokémon.
As in previous events, players now earn double the amount of candy when they capture a Pokémon. Be careful, however, this is not the case during outbreaks and exchanges.
Pikachu will return to spooky mode: it is once again possible to catch him with his witch's hat.
Finally, new items featuring Pokémon Spectre are available in the shop to customize your character. So you can buy 3 hats ranging from 200 to 250 pieces, 3 t-shirts with 200 pieces and a bag with 250 pieces.
Two special Pokémon available for raid
In addition to these special Halloween features, two new Pokémon are joining Pokémon Go raids ! The first is Giratina, a legendary Spectre and Dragon type Pokémon of the 4th generation, already available since the beginning of the Halloween event. He will be present in the arena until November 20.
As part of the Special Raid Challenge, Ectoplasma will take place in the Pokémon Go arenas from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3. It will also be possible to come across a chromatic! It is possible that during this period, Ectoplasma will be a level 4 boss, so it may be difficult to defeat alone. Also, each player will receive 5 free Raid passes when they visit the arenas.
Exploration tracking, a very practical novelty
An update a little less spooky but which is no less interesting: the exploration follow-up. Announced Thursday, players will soon no longer have to leave the app open to collect candy and hatch their eggs! This new feature will record your steps even when Pokemon go is not open.
On top of that, the tracker will offer a summary of the data to track your progress during the week. We will soon have access to statistics on the rate of egg incubation and candy harvesting, but also on our important periods of activity.
It will be possible to activate push notifications in order to be informed of an egg hatching or a new candy, without even having to return to the game. You can even link Pokemon Go to a sports app like Apple Health, Google Fit, or Samsung Health to update your daily exercises.
If you do not like this feature, it will be possible to activate and deactivate it at any time.
A perfect opportunity to fill your pokédex with new pokémon even more spooky!
