Koei Tecmo reveals the strategies present in its strategy game Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi, planned for PS4.
For this new installment in Koei's iconic series, you will be immersed in the historical period of Sengoku. The Taishi opus was already released on Steam in November 2017, it will arrive on June 8, 2018 on PS4 and will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the series, at the same time.
In Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi, players can command their favorite officer or lord, while expanding their clan's influence in Japan. To dominate brilliantly and to conquer other countries, players will have to rely on multiple strategic options.
Taishi proposes a completely new resolution system: each decision will have to be carefully thought out upstream because this system involves a series of aspirations. Aspirations that strongly determine how the officer will react to the situation. For example, Shingen Takeda, the head of the Takeda clan, has the "Law of Kai" resolution, which he says implies that everyone should be treated as equals in every situation. If the player achieves the ambitions of an officer, he will unlock bonuses, very useful during the campaign.
For its part, the council system has been improved to give each officer who sits on the council the opportunity to give his or her approval. Depending on the aspirations of each officer, approval and disapproval will vary.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi offers a range of tactical choices to use in battle. The player is therefore free to select the strategy that seems best to defeat the enemy. The combat system is based on new two-step mechanics. So in the planning phase, the action is stopped to give the player the opportunity to choose his next move. The fight then enters the execution phase, i.e. the real-time battle. The planning phase proposes several strategies all with qualities and flaws. Using the formation of the "green woodpecker" allows for example to inflict significant damage to the opposing units but in return, it requires to wait five turns before the attack is realized.
The game also has a whole management branch with the domain to be developed, as well as its resources. Agricultural, military and cultural facilities have their role to play since it influences the number of armies, the morale of the troops and the evolution of the field.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi will land on June 8 on PS4.
