Life is Strange 2 makes a fresh start

Available on Steam since September 27, 2018, Life is Strange 2 plunges us into the eventful life of 2 Hispanic brothers. 

The new installment of the narrative game franchise is here! After the success of the first installment Life is Strange in 2015, then its prequel Life is Strange: Before the storm in 2017 and finally the free spin-off The Extraordinary Adventures of Captain Spirit released last June, Square Enix has unveiled a new game simply titled Life is Strange 2. This time, the plot does not revolve around Max Caulfield and Chloe Price in Arcadia Bay. This new story features Sean Diaz, controlled by the player, and his younger brother Daniel, living in Seattle with their father Esteban. After a tragic event, the two brothers must flee and must learn to survive alone. The story is set in the same universe as the previous games; We can also quickly see the heroes in the spin off.

In this episode, the Dontnod Entertainment team tackles new and very strong and topical themes such as racism and the status of immigrants in the United States, making direct references to Donald Trump' s policies. In addition to the committed side of Life is Strange 2, the pillar of this new story is the relationship between Sean and Daniel. It allows to introduce a new dimension in the choices made by the player, because each action can influence the behavior of his little brother.

Faithful to the first opus, Life is Strange 2 takes up the concept of supernatural powers out of nowhere, but exit the time travel: this time, it is a very mysterious "force".The soundtrack also remains one of the highlights of the game, especially with the opening scene punctuated by Lisztomania from Phoenix. The improved graphics thanks to the switch to Unreal Engine 4 makes some scenes even more poetic and fixes the few flaws of the previous games. 

With about 4 hours of life for this first episode, Life is Strange 2 offers us a touching and authentic story that suggests a sequel just as poetic and surprising. 

4 more episodes of the adventures of Sean and Daniel are planned, but no release date has been communicated.
