YoYo Games will distribute free and full versions of GameMaker Studio 2. They will also be valid for two weeks.
YoYoGames, an independent studio and leader in 2D game development, will offer full and unrestricted licenses of its GameMaker Studio 2 video game creation software during GDC, including March 28.
GameMaker Studio 2 is the latest version of the 2D game development software GameMaker. It allows freelancers to develop easily and beginners to make their weapons by offering game tools, tutorials, advanced features (physics engine, shaders …), all with the GML language (GameMaker Language). GameMaker Studio 2 can be purchased for Windows PC, Mac OS, Ubuntu, Android, iOS, Amazon Fire, Microsoft UWP, HTML5, PS4 and Xbox One from 39 euros (currently more than 90 euros on Steam).
"Anyone can now celebrate GDC by making a game, especially by participating in Game Jam events such as Train Jam, which are extremely important to the long-term health of the industry. They allow creators from all disciplines to come together informally, experimenting with ideas they might not be able to realize in a more commercial setting," said James Cox, CEO of YoYo Games. "By providing unrestricted licenses to these independent developers during this two-week period, we want to give them a tool that allows for quick and effective expression. »
