Vertigo Gaming Inc, offers us the long-awaited sequel to its very first game, with Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2 !! Released on September 13, we were able to get our hands on it, the game should have been released at the end of August but it was postponed to refine it. Moreover, the developer is very attentive and continues to make regular updates to fix some bugs, and to also add additional content in the coming months!
A game of simulation and speed!
What is Cook Serve Delicious 2? Well this is a game where you will be chef of a kitchen, you will have to prepare the dishes offered on your menu as quickly as possible to serve the long queue of customers. Simple isn't it?
In fact, Cook Serve Delicious takes the codes of its elder, but is very different in the realization. Indeed in this second opus, the campaign will offer you two modes, one where you will have your own restaurant and where you can change the menu, and another where you will have thirty different restaurants all offering varied menus with several levels of difficulty. To unlock other restaurants and their different levels, you will have to increase your level and number of stars (up to 5).
You will have the opportunity to decorate your own restaurant, and the decorative elements are recovered thanks to the medals. Indeed, each level of the different restaurants will allow you to win a medal, bronze, silver or gold. They depend solely on your mistakes, and for gold, you will have to make a faultless, which is very clearly not simple! How many times have I ended up with a single error? It's sometimes infuriating, but it's only my fault, with a few miss clicks at times, or just big mistakes.
The many different restaurants are nice to browse, especially because of the very large number of dishes offered (180!), you will need a lot of money to unlock everything! Moreover, unlike the first, here all the dishes are upgraded to the maximum, which greatly complicates the task when you start on the game. But if you take your time and are well focused, you should get through it without much difficulty. Moreover, the addition of the joystick support is a big plus in my opinion, rather ergonomic and well thought out. I used to play the keyboard and it's easy to get tangled up since a lot of things differ from 1. The dishes are divided into those that can be prepared in advance, those that are made to order, and drinks. The major addition remains those prepared in advance, it can be steaks for burgers, sausages for hot dogs, or lasagna or soups, as well as vegetables or fruits. This gives you more time for dishes that require your full attention and it adds a little bit of pleasant realism. Once you know the dishes, you will become fast and the game will be much more rewarding when you win your first gold medals.
The only real complaint that could be made to this Cook Serve Delicious is that there is not a real campaign with its own restaurant as in the first. There is no food upgrade (since they are already at the maximum), nor upgrade vis-à-vis the tasks you will perform. The tasks are those of taking out the garbage or cleaning for example, previously you could hire someone to no longer have to do them as often. Of course, we can also consider that the repetitive side is, but if you like this kind of title, you should not get tired of it for a while!
On the graphic side, there is nothing to say, it's pretty, and the majority of the dishes are appetizing, personally, some make my mouth water. The music is also enjoyable. The game is entirely in English, but concretely, you don't have to worry about the language to press buttons.
There is not much to say negative about Cook Serve Delicious 2, if you like small cooking games, this is the one for you, it offers more than appreciable and addictive content for the modest sum of 12.99 €. Worshippers of the first, you should enjoy the sequel, and for newcomers, it will just take a little adaptation and then it will be nothing but fun!
