1 year ago, Riot Games opened its French office with the promise of local development. This was confirmed with the organization of the European final of the LCS in France (bringing together nearly 19,000 spectators, making it the largest e-sport event ever organized in France). Riot Games continues its development with a new championship format entirely dedicated to the community.
It is therefore after the announcement of the pan-European competition and the redesign of the LCS, that the Open Tour France is unveiled. It is therefore a new national championship designed by the French Riot office. This tournament succeeds the Challenge France and will allow to know the best French team in 2018.
This competition is open to all players with platinum rank 5 or higher and consists of 7 stages. Lyon e-Sport (Lyon), Gamers Assembly (Poitiers), Dreamhack (Tours), and ESL Montpellier (Montpellier) will be the first 4 stages of this Tour de France, the perfect opportunity to get noticed. Know that the 2 best teams of the circuit will be able to access a new future pan-European competition that we will discover soon. Finally, the travel costs of the top 8 teams to each of the qualifying tournaments will be covered by Riot Games.
Damien Ricci, Head of Esports at Riot Games France explains: "We felt it was essential to build a circuit that showcases our national talents, whether amateur or semi-professional, while partnering with renowned esports events.We have been working on this project, quite similar to that of the ATP in tennis, for several months, continuously placing the player at the heart of the competition. It's a meritocratic circuit, where everyone has a chance!"

- Dreamhack Tours – May 19-21, 2018
- ESL Montpellier – 02 and 03 June 2018
