You're probably already familiar with Vikings: War of Clans, but here's a little reminder for those unfamiliar with the game:
This strategy MMO is in line with Plarium's building games, with the difference that it takes you back to the Viking era. The opus is available on browser since this year, but continues to appeal to mobile players. You play as a Jarl whose goal is to build a kingdom, recruit his army and of course conquer neighboring kingdoms. To do this, you have to recruit various characters, build your stronghold, craft your equipment and take part in epic battles.
On the gameplay side, it is a classic game of construction and city management, but it is very balanced. The production system is neither too hermetic nor too easy, so one takes pleasure in making one's kingdom evolve. Among the various Viking Games, Vikings: War of Clans is therefore a very serious competitor, thanks to its addictive gameplay and its licked environment. The game has recently released an update that adds several elements including the Shaman and the buildings related to him. Here is a small overview of what awaits you with this new extension.
The Shaman, at the heart of this update
The most important novelty is the addition of the Shaman, who becomes a new class of heroes on his own. Rather than replacing the Hero, he will accompany him in battle. The result is that you get a new general for your armies. This big change is welcome, as it brings a new dimension and more flexibility to the gameplay of Vikings: War of Clans.
Two buildings also appeared with this new hero among which the Hall of Mysteries, which contains all the information about the Shamans. By improving it, we increase the gain of experience of the selected Shaman. The second building, more innovative, is the Runes Workshop. It allows you to create and merge runes that can then be applied to the equipment of Heroes and Shamans. This latest improvement opens up new possibilities that allow us to diversify the way we evolve our characters. Note that these two buildings can only be obtained if you have a level 12 palace.
These new elements come with a quid pro quo: new, more powerful Invaders land on our lands and they can only be countered by the powers of the Shaman. If this addition may seem annoying at first, it is still successful, because it unlocks important resources that we would not have been able to obtain otherwise… As long as you make your Shamans evolve quickly enough!
Verdict
If this update does not completely revolutionize Vikings: War of Clans, it is still welcome, because it brings new ways to manage its battles and the evolution of the game. We particularly appreciate that the new character of the Shaman does not supplant the Hero, but fights alongside him. This slight change in the strategy of the game should therefore appeal to novices and insiders alike.
