The French designer led the way by organizing, this Thursday, July 16, the first physical show since the Coronavirus crisis. In a rural setting, Jacquemus unveiled his new collection.  It is in an Instagram post that Simon Porte Jacquemus announced the date of his mixed show, soberly titled love. Jacquemus is the hottest French haute couture brand right now. Indeed, the brand is distinguished by its refined aesthetics. Simple clothes in solid colors, which denotes the extravagant side often present during fashion shows. It is therefore in a wheat field lost in the Val d'Oise that the models paraded for the brand. There are no less than 55 professionals. All wearing dresses, shirts and other accessories proudly displaying colors and patterns reminiscent of the south, the region where the creator is from. The event was held in a very secret location. Chairs can be seen placed here and there in the fields to best enforce social distancing rules. The lucky few who were able to attend the parade were treated to a unique show. Also on Instagram, Jacquemus said the show's ambition was to celebrate "love, people coming together." The show is very well orchestrated and offers a very beautiful rendering to see. In an idyllic setting, the haute couture brand manages to disorient us during a fashion show.

The post-lockdown effect on luxury leather goods

Although the lockdowns in France had a detrimental effect on the psychological side of the French, they still managed to save a very nice amount of money. At the same time, we were all at home, so no need to commute to work, no need to put gas and buy meal trays at the work cafeteria. This money saved did not remain moldy in a corner. Indeed, the French have invested this money in clothes and luxury leather goods to change pajamas at the end of confinement. And, in the most popular models, the Jacquemus bag is one of the most purchased leather goods in post-confinement. Of course, other manufacturers manage to stand out, and again, these are luxury leather goods. For example, we can mention Guess which is more popular with the younger generation. Love is what drives Jacquemus. The brand also kills two birds with one stone, because men and women have paraded, in an ecological and technical concern. In short, the show is a success, the designer has the attention to detail and this is reflected in his work.

Clothing shops are also stormed

In addition to luxury leather goods with the Jacquemus bag, it is in particular the clothes and shops that have been stormed. Thanks to the many savings made, the French invest their money in clothing brands that they have not invested at all. On the men's side, they are heading for clothing brands like Devred, Prada (for fun) or more conventional brands in quotes like Pepe Jeans, or Diesel. On the side of these ladies, the latter leave for them to brands of the same range as in men. In short, although the lockdown, or rather the lockdowns, have been harmful to the economy, it is interesting to know that the curve tends to quickly reverse with for some manufacturers or shops, a level of purchase equal to or higher than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, consumers have begun to cook with more noble and environmentally friendly products. A nice return to basics will have been beneficial for millions of French people, consumed little, but consumed well. This motto does not only apply to food, but to all sectors of the market that since the end of the lockdowns have had strong sales growth.
